- We feel disrupted when we no longer understand where we stand in the world. For this reason, it's essential for leaders to anticipate the emotional needs of our employees going through this change and create and hold space for them. Beyond communicating, responsible leaders help the workforce thrive with AI using psychological safety. Recall from a previous lesson that our employees expect two things from us: honesty and fairness. It's important to acknowledge how hard transformation is; that it's going to be messy. I want to introduce you to the concept of the messy middle. This is where we leave the stability of the status quo and set up on a journey to a new place. Our natural reaction is to move through this messy middle as quickly as possible because it's really uncomfortable. But because we're not anchored in the past, and yet we haven't arrived in the future, we can explore. We can experiment and grow.…
