Breaking down communication barriers
- In my experience, one of the biggest challenges in responsible AI production is not a lack of tools or frameworks or technical skills. It's communication. When engineers, product managers, legal teams, and leadership don't have a common understanding of system behavior, risk becomes harder to see, and therefore harder to address. This video focuses on how technical professionals can help bridge those critical gaps. Start by recognizing that responsible AI often depends on translation. Technical teams talk in terms of training distributions, performance drift, or calibration, but legal teams don't use those words. They might be focused on liability, notice, user rights and product teams might be thinking about usability, trust, and market fit. Each group has its own vocabulary, but they're often pointing to the same concerns. And good communication starts with a good understanding of shared purpose.
