- Let's get into performance reviews. Another difficult conversation. No one wants to feel like they're being told what they're not doing. And so what I want you to do is to go into this next lesson, getting prepared for that performance review and making sure that you have the tools that you need to succeed. Let's talk feedback. You're probably going to have to get some in your career at some point in some time. Listen to the feedback, absorb the feedback, think about it, and then react. And here's the thing, you don't have to react day of. You can take the feedback, sit on it, talk to some peers about it, talk to some advisors or mentors about it, and then react from there. Because feedback tends to come from a place of honesty. And even if you don't agree with the feedback, it's important for you to first listen, take some time, and then react so that there's no emotion tied to it.
