- [Michael] Perhaps the most common task in all of corporate finance is simply building basic financial models. So let's take a look at an example of the kind of detailed model you might be building if you were working in a corporate finance role. I'm in the 0501 Begin Excel file. Now, this is a model that I've set up, and this is supposed to represent kind of a local coffee shop, right? Or I should say perhaps a store for a coffee shop chain. So think of this as something like a Starbucks or a Dutch Brothers, or perhaps even a Dunkin. To be clear, I don't have any inside information about any of those firms, Starbucks, Dunkin, Dutch Brothers anything of the sort.
