Using LUTs with Final Cut Pro X

- Final Cut Pro now ships with the ability to work with lookup tables directly on your clips. It also has a small library of built-in LUTs, or you can load custom ones. Let's go here to the clip in the timeline, and if I select the clip, I just need to go to the inspector to view its properties. If this is set to the basic inspector, go ahead and switch to the general or extended. This will show you more fields. Now you can scroll down to camera LUT. You'll find in the pop-up list that there is a Blackmagic LUT included for the 4k film LUT, and it quickly applies it to the clip and brings it closer in line. This is a nice, simple fix, and again, with a simple pop-up, we can switch to a built-in LUT that's designed for the Blackmagic camera in this case, or other cameras that you might have shot with.
