What is an impact assessment?
We all know the success of an organization is a direct result of the combined efforts of the people that work there. So it makes sense that when big changes are planned, we have to consider how each person is impacted or risk losing them along the way. Many organizations might just look at corporate strategy and decide the change fits and then go full steam ahead, but this approach carries huge risks. Not getting the buy-in from all stakeholders or clearly understanding what this change really means for them can increase levels of resistance and a lack of embedding the change, which in turn leads to poor investment value for the organization. A change impact assessment can help organizations understand what the change means for them at a strategic level, their stakeholders at a more detailed level, and lead to informed decision-making on whether this is the right time to start this change or possibly delay or stop it.
