- [Speaker] Even before the emergence of popular AI systems, incidents relating to learning and expert systems were occurring, and the rate of such incidents has escalated rapidly over the last few years. Here's a graphical view of the database of over 800 AI incidents classified by color into industry categories. Let's take a look at a few. We can go to the discover page and search for the incidents we want. Tay was a chatbot built and released by Microsoft. It was designed to be a buddy for teenagers. Unfortunately, after talking to some unscrupulous users and learning from them, it began regurgitating inappropriate content. It was shut down within 16 hours of being launched and left-behind reputational damage for Microsoft. The chatbot launched by Air Canada was asked by a customer about refunds for bereavement flight. It's incorrectly advised that refunds could be sought, and when the customer requested the refund, Air Canada rejected it. The case was taken to court and Air Canada…
