What you should know before watching this course
- [Instructor] If you'd like to follow along with the examples I demonstrate in the videos, you'll need one of the desktop versions of Vizio. The web versions of Vizio are covered in my LinkedIn Learning course titled "Learning Vizio for the Web and Desktop." That course also contains a complete description of the various versions and editions of Vizio that are pictured on this slide and the next one. To complete the exercises, you can use either the desktop component of Vizio Plan 2 or Vizio Standard or Professional going back as far as Vizio 2016. Most of what I'll show you will even work with Vizio 2013, although the user interface looks a bit different in the 2013 version. I'll be demonstrating with Vizio Plan 2 and Vizio 2016, but we'll keep you in sync if you're using a different version. It's also important to note that the first three chapters demonstrate features that are contained in Plan 2, Vizio Standard, and Vizio Professional. However, the remaining chapters require either Plan 2 or the Professional edition of the product. In some videos, I'll demonstrate features that allow you to link Vizio with Excel, Access, and either SharePoint or OneDrive. So if you want to follow along in those sections, you'll need access to those products as well. If you're new to Vizio, you might want to experiment a bit with the software before watching this course. For example, you might create a flow chart, a timeline, or an organization chart. If you're comfortable with Vizio and are ready to learn how to leverage its data handling features, let's get started.
