The promotion budget is limited to a fixed duration unless you choose the auto-renew option. If you promote a job for 7, 14, or 30 days, the promotion budget will only be effective for that specific time period. However, if you promote a job using the auto-renew option, the budget for the job will be utilized every 30 days until you end the promotion.
Key terms:
- Spent: The total amount spent on promoting a job throughout its lifetime. If a job is promoted or downgraded multiple times, the Lifetime Spend will show the total amount spent while the job was in the promoted state.
- Budget: The maximum amount of money spent per promotional period.
To prevent going over budget, we monitor the lifetime spend of your job, which is the total amount of all promotional spending for a single job. We combine the lifetime spend and your current promotional budget to create your lifetime budget. This lifetime budget serves as the upper limit for the maximum possible spend a job can reach while promoted. We do not charge more than the promotion budget in a promotion period.
If a job is downgraded or its promotion is changed in any way (e.g., adjusting the original budget, switching from a fixed promotion period to auto-renew), and there were charges or spending in the previous promotion period, the lifetime budget might be higher than the current promotion period budget.
