🚨 40% of healthcare data still isn’t being shared. That’s the quiet crisis holding value-based care back. In his new op-ed for Healthcare IT Today, our CEO Jonathan Bush breaks down why data defensiveness remains so pervasive, and why it’s time to rethink the idea of “owning” data at all. From outdated EHR tools and liability fears to business models built on data silos, the industry is still making it too hard for clinicians to see a complete patient picture. And without full data, value-based care just can’t work. The solution? Become data stewards, not data owners. When organizations share clean, connected data with as little friction as possible, everyone wins. Patients, providers, and payers. Link to the full piece in comments.

Trust is the real infrastructure of interoperability. At The Sequoia Project Annual Meeting, Zus' Amy Bagge-Smith joined leaders from Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Clinic, DirectTrust, and MedeAnalytics to unpack how monitoring, compliance, and transparency shape the future of data exchange. Thanks to Sequoia for hosting an energizing conversation. Grateful to have Amy on stage representing how we think about this at Zus. #Interoperability #InteropAndRoll

Care teams aren’t lacking effort, expertise, or intention. They’re just working with different parts of the patient’s story. A discharge summary in one system. A medication list in another. Historical labs in a portal that doesn’t talk to either. It ends up looking a lot like the blind men and the elephant: everyone holding a different part, trying to make a whole truth. That’s where duplication, missed context, and those “that’s not my blood type” moments come from. Not because anyone is failing, but because the record isn’t moving with the patient. This isn’t a workflow issue. It’s a shared truth issue. And it’s solvable. Jonathan Bush went deeper on the systemic side of this. Link in comments.

We’re live at #HLTH Booth #1821 showing how AI can finally see what’s been missing. In one pilot, Zus surfaced 11,000+ uncoded conditions with 93% coder acceptance, and unlocked $1M+ in ROI from earlier identification. Come see how smarter data makes AI more useful. #HLTH2025 #HealthcareInnovation #AIinHealthcare #RiskAdjustment #DataThatMatters #Interoperability

What hidden complexities are you missing in your patients’ records? Customers like Homeward who piloted our Risk Adjustment solution found out. Through AI-powered analysis, we uncovered a Risk Adjustment Factor gap: the difference between a patient’s true clinical complexity and the conditions captured in historical diagnosis data, and a path to surfacing it within the existing chart prep workflow. Zus’s risk adjustment solution helped coders from leading value-based care organizations: ✅ Identify previously undetected HCC suspects in 72.5% of patients reviewed. 💡 Find 1.3 new high confidence suspect codes per patient, representing up to $2,070 per patient in newly recognized and reimbursable complexity. 📈 Accept 93% of high confidence suspects and recapture opportunities. That’s not just incremental improvement. That’s visibility into risk that’s been hiding in plain sight. 📍Join Jonathan Bush and the Zus Health team for a live session on Tues. Oct 21st at 1pm PST (Booth #1821) at HLTH to see how we’re turning hidden risk into actionable insight. Can’t make the demo? Stop by anytime during HLTH, book time here, or reach us at info@zushealth.com (https://lnkd.in/eY8MdPB3) to see how we’re helping organizations uncover the real complexity behind their patients. Primary care runs on relationships. Between patients, clinicians, and the data that connects them. That’s why Elation Health + Zus are teaming up again at #HLTH2025. Because when data moves seamlessly, care teams do too. We’ll be co-hosting a Coffee & Connect on Monday, Oct 20 (9 AM–1 PM) at Elation’s Booth #4922. Stop by for a latte and a conversation about how connected infrastructure is reshaping care delivery. From better context at the point of care to faster insights across networks. The best ideas start over coffee. ☕ See the registration link in the comments. 👇 #HLTH2025 #HealthcareInnovation #Interoperability #PrimaryCare #DataThatMatters #HealthTech #ValueBasedCare
