On October 15th, the 16th Clean50 Summit took place at the Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto. Our Executive Director, Gillian Flies, is a member of both this year's Clean50 — a selection of 50 individuals or small teams from 16 diverse categories — and this year's Clean16 —a selection of 16 individual honourees recognized as the top contributor in their specific category! Our Farms for Change program in collaboration with Right To Food also received a Top Project award for the program's innovation and ability to inform and inspire other Canadians. Last Friday, Chris and Sanna attended Escarpment Corridor Alliance's Nature Corridor Summit 2025! We spent the day learning about Nature Corridors and how they are necessary for the longevity of the Niagara Escarpment of South Georgian Bay, its people, and the economy that sustains it all. In addition to attending, Chris spoke on behalf of The New Farm Centre, discussing a Nature Wellness Economy — how we can protect the Escarpment from further development by utilizing the outdoor spaces we already have. #NatureCooridorSummit2025 #EscarpmentCorridorAlliance #TheNewFarmCentre

Op-Ed / World Food Day: Collaboration is key to building Canada’s future food system On World Food Day, Gillian Flies, Beth Hunter, and other members of Canada's Clean50 in a joint call for collaboration. Farmers across Canada are wrapping up a season marked by drought and low yields. Farms, food companies and others along the value chain are deeply affected by climate change, while also contributing to it. Solutions depend on a collective understanding of the true value of food and the people who produce it. Together, we can ensure that our food systems are healthy, accessible, resilient, and sustainable! Read the full letter on the FoodBridge / Terre à table blog here: https://lnkd.in/dFFhUya2
