About us
The Honest Kitchen was founded by Lucy Postins in 2002 with a mission to help as many pets as possible get on the road to good health, through good food. We produce a full line of human grade complete and balanced foods for dogs and cats including dry, dehydrated, and wet foods; as well as treats, toppers, hydration boosters and a best-selling digestive supplement. The Honest Kitchen was the first-ever human grade pet food, meaning our finished product meets human food production standards (unlike conventional pet food, which is feed grade). Each Honest Kitchen product is made with uncompromising quality & safety standards by a company of pet lovers.

But through all the messes and mischief, one thing remains constant: our commitment to giving our pets the very best. That’s why we’re proud to launch our latest campaign: “Feed them the best. Whether they deserve it or not.” This campaign highlights the everyday realities of life with pets: the chaos, the joy, and the unconditional love that drives us to care for them like family. No matter what kind of day they’ve had (or what they’ve gotten into), at The Honest Kitchen, we make it easy to feed them the best with food that’s healthy, high quality, and human grade.

Last week, our team had the opportunity to come together for an inspiring offsite. It was great to connect in person, foster cross-functional relationships, and strengthen our company culture.
