We started Moss Utilities because we want to change the world. One piece of pipe at a time. One story at a time.

About us

Moss Utilities is an employee owned company specializing in underground utility installation including water, sewer, storm drainage, duct bank, and fire lines. Our project capabilities and experience include commercial, education, industrial, datacenter, single-family residential, multi-family residential, and public works infrastructure projects all over the DFW Metroplex and the great state of Texas. The Moss family has a legacy in the utility construction industry here in Dallas-Fort Worth dating back to the early 1900's. In 2016, Garrett Moss, fifth generation in the business, decided to start Moss Utilities with the goal of creating a company that fosters both personal and professional growth of our employees and treats both customers and employees like family. We intend to continue the Moss legacy of excellent workmanship, a passion for our industry, and honor and integrity in the way we do business. The Moss family has always been proud of our history, reputation, and loyalty to our friends, family, coworkers, employees, vendors, and suppliers. We will be there for our customers and employees when they need us. We understand the need in today's world to create and foster long and mutually beneficial relationships with our customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. This is an "old school" mentality which can still be executed today more than ever. Please email us or give us a call today. We would love a chance to show you what we can do and earn your business and friendship as well. We strive to exceed the needs of our customers and we pride ourselves on the quality of our work. Our team is built with experience and knowledge, but most importantly we have a passion to excel at our trade every day.

We have always said that our biggest asset isn't our equipment or the jobs. Its the people. That is why bringing Abraham Aguilar on board as our new Director of Talent Development is a massive win for us. Abraham is not just here to fill seats. He is here to build an elite team. He understands that we need quality people who are hungry and humble. We want the team members who feel that burning pride when they drive past a project years later and tell their kids they built that. There are too many lives depending on Moss for us to slow down. Abraham is leading the charge to find the best talent in the industry so we can double down on our standard. Our mission is Too Big To Fail.

  • Before the office heads off for some well-deserved Thanksgiving turkey and football, we kept the competitive fire burning with our Annual Singles Pickleball Tournament! 🏆 It has been a phenomenal year of growth and hitting milestones. Without our great people none of this is possible. Now it is time to recharge and reset. We are putting the paddles down for the holiday so we can come back ready to serve up a massive finish to the year! 💥

Crowley ISD lives by the motto “Excellence Every Day” and that aligns perfectly with the quality we strive for at Moss Utilities. We are excited to partner with our friends at Balfour Beatty US on our first project for their education division building a new middle school for Crowley ISD. It is amazing to see the growth happening in Crowley right now and we are proud to help build the infrastructure to support it. We are handling the private utilities and CFA public work for Fort Worth including offsite scope. Here is our scope of work: -5,000 linear feet (LF) of combined water -3,500 LF of combined sewer -8,650 LF of storm drain with 10,000 square feet (SF) of offsite rock rip rap -4,000 SF of Asphalt paving removal and replacement This is a hard rock project so we have multiple large excavators running to get through the ground. We have two crews out there right now and they are about 90% complete with all private scope.

  • As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, our focus turns to gratitude. Our strength is found in the men laying pipe in the trenches every day. Their commitment is the definition of ¡Moss Fuerte! These men represent the backbone of Moss Utilities. They tackle the physical demands and the Texas elements with an attitude that refuses to quit. It is their consistent effort that allows us to deliver on its promises to the community. We are incredibly thankful for their loyalty and their grit. To the men who build the infrastructure of North Texas, thank you. We wish everyone a safe and restful Thanksgiving surrounded by family and good food. ¡Moss Fuerte!

  • Special thanks to Johnny Jenkins from the North Texas Food Bank for dropping by the Moss Utilities HQ. He shared their important mission to "Close The Hunger Gap in North Texas by Providing Access to Nutritious Food." Their goals and initiatives align so well with ours that we recently started a joint campaign. We are matching dollar-for-dollar every contribution from our employees, partners, and friends to meet our goal of $100,000. The campaign runs through the end of November, so don't wait! Please contribute today and double your impact! https://lnkd.in/gNH5j_4Y

Warehousing is a game of scale. You need maximum capacity, built fast and built right. That's exactly what we delivered for Palmer Logistics in Midlothian, Texas, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our partners at ARCO Murray Construction Company. Always a smooth project when Moss and ARCO partner up and execute. We drove our complex wet utility scope to 100% completion (punch list is simply quality control). We mobilized two aggressive crews to install the essential systems beneath this new facility: 3,100 Linear feet (LF) of waterline, 1,150 LF of sanitary sewer, and 3,300 LF of storm drain, all protected by 2,160 Square Feet of Rip-Rap to ensure zero erosion issues. The structure is only as good as what's buried beneath it. We ensure both are built to last.

The most essential work is often the quietest. Laborer Francisco Reyes builds the unseen, lasting foundation that allows our work to stand the test of time, and this silent strength defines ¡Moss Fuerte! Francisco has been an invaluable Laborer for nine months, and he has already proven himself a dedicated craftsman. He understands that excellence is a team effort he enjoys working with his crew and appreciates the hard work his foreman puts in daily. He even keeps up with company insights as a big fan of our 'Too Big To Fail' podcast and fully believes in our mission. Francisco’s dedication is anchored by his family. He has a wife and three children. Their favorite way to spend time together is feeding the birds and ducks with corn at Lake Lewisville. The strength he brings to the job is the same passion he reserves for his favorite soccer team, Club América. The company thanks Francisco for bringing his grit, craftsmanship, and commitment to the team every single day. ¡Moss Fuerte!

  • Saddle up. The construction world is a rodeo, and you either ride or you get bucked. Our Senior Project Manager, April Seleska sat down on the Too Big to Fail Podcast to talk about her path from barrel racing to running data center projects. Growing up around horses taught April to be tough as nails. She puts it like this... even if she doesn't have the answer right away, she's "damned sure she will figure it out." That's how you earn trust on high-stakes projects. What really makes April stand out? The respect she's built with our field crews. It goes both ways, and it's rock solid. That mutual respect is what makes her an elite project manager. She sets the standard for other PMs at Moss to follow. Respect isn't given in this industry. April's earned every bit of hers.

  • Here in North Texas, food insecurity is a massive problem. It ranks 3rd in the entire nation, affecting 1.3 million people, including 442,000 children. This holiday season, we’re launching the 2025 Moss Giving fundraising campaign in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank. The campaign will run from November 10th through November 30th. With a goal of raising 100K, this initiative directly responds to the reality of hunger right here in North Texas. We’re matching every donation from our employees, vendors, partners and friends dollar for dollar. The link to the official donation/campaign webpage is: https://lnkd.in/grKXv3R9

  • You can't run a data center without water. This is the site for CyrusOne's new DFW10 data center, a massive 1.2$ Billion infrastructure investment. The customer, Calpine needs a mission-critical utility system to enable their Powered Land Capabilities solution. This PLC solution provides an integrated package of power generation, the land, and the grid connection all in one, guaranteeing speed-to-market and hyper-reliability for CyrusOne while also supporting the Texas grid (ERCOT). The challenge is the ground near Lake Whitney. It is extremely hard rock. Period. We bought in multiple Link-Belt 750 to meet the needs of the job. We are proud to partner with the Peinado Construction and Clune Construction Company to deliver our scope of work: • 5,250 LF (Linear Feet) of Water line. • 3,015 LF of Sanitary Sewer. • 9,085 LF of Storm Drain. When you need infrastructure built on a scale this massive, in conditions this difficult, you don’t compromise. You call in the big dogs to get the job dug.
