💡 We asked Kelly Oppenheim, a Global Program Launch Manager in the US: Why did you join IDEXX? "I joined IDEXX in 2012 through the Summer Internship Program, drawn by its strong reputation for developing talent through meaningful projects, networking opportunities with young professionals, and the potential to explore long-term career paths within the company. 💡 We asked Victoria Young, a Medical Laboratory Technician in the UK: Why IDEXX? What keeps you at IDEXX and engaged with your work? "I joined IDEXX after a brief stint in human biomedical sciences for the NHS. My degree was in Equine Science so I was excited for the opportunity to work in the veterinary field instead. I appreciate the feeling that we are making a difference to both animals and their owners, the pet - owner relationship is very special and maintaining and optimising pet health I feel is very valuable. My work in microbiology is very varied and I like the fact that every day is different!"

💡 We asked Christine Wellmann, a Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist in Germany: Why did you join IDEXX? "One of the most important factors influencing my career decisions has always been finding a sense of purpose in my work. As a passionate animal lover, working in the animal health industry has long been a dream of mine. After spending most of my career in the consumer goods and pharmaceutical sectors, I was looking for a new challenge and direction - and that’s when I came across a job ad from IDEXX. I began learning more about the company and the animal diagnostics industry, and I was immediately convinced that this would be a great next step. It offered the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for animals with the skills and experience I’d gained in previous roles. As a nice side benefit, joining IDEXX also allowed me to move closer to my family after having lived far away from them for most of my working life."

💡 We asked Michael Steffen, a Sr. Research Scientist in the US: Why IDEXX? What keeps you at IDEXX and engaged with your work? "When looking for jobs, almost everyone in the sciences, located in southern Maine, had high praise of working for IDEXX. Since joining, it has been amazing seeing the scientific work and investment into some of the best technologies available for diagnostics. Real science is being performed everyday and I am always applying advanced scientific skills I have developed from my schooling and career. Additionally, IDEXX really appealed to me as a lifetime lover of animals. My wife and I currently own 2 dogs, a tortoise, a snake, 3 different species of poison dart frogs, chickens, and a handful of tropical fish. I am proud to go home everyday to see my dogs and think I am working to help keep them happy and healthy, both at home and in the lab."
