From boardroom to homeless in a single day! Tonight my son Benny and I are homeless for the night. Only armed with a cardboard box and sleeping bag, we traded our beds for the concrete, not even a pillow. We are still $1,500 short from our goal of $25,000. With more than $10k raised in 36 hours, my son is close to out raising me. Please consider a contribution to the Covenant House Texas to support homeless young adults with a safe haven and a path to recovery. I would like to thank all those who have been generous. The Adaptive Construction Solutions team has helped us achieve our goals. I need just a bit more help from my network. https://lnkd.in/gDTyiTfF

Little different approach this morning on #HawaiianShirtFriday, with a bit of a personal touch to share a quick note about Covenant House Texas, a local organization that I support that provides resources for homeless youth ages 18-24. Last night was the Executive Sleep Out, where over 150 executives slept OUTSIDE in a sleeping bag on a cardboard box to give just a small glimpse into the world of homelessness. We also participated in street outreach, listened to a series of "sleep talks" to take a dive into the statistics of homelessness, and we also heard stories from the youth of the Covenant House and how this organization has changed the trajectory of their lives through its programs. Covenant House is not just a hand out for these young men and women, it's a hand up. Loving them, teaching them, showing them and helping them grow. It was definitely not the best night of sleep I've ever had...but I get to go home and take a shower and sleep in my own comfy bed tonight. Without the Covenant House these young men and women would experience every night like I did last night, and much worse. Thankful for the work they do, and proud to be a supporter along with AGC Houston and many of our member companies. Shoutout to some of my fellow sleepers Mike Holland Brady Johnson (Hoar) Lance Smith Jorge Barrera Rich Fanning Tim Manherz Alan Smidlein, ARM Brian Cook Danny Thompson If you feel compelled to make a contribution to support an amazing organization, here is the link: https://lnkd.in/gzYHCXvg
