Last month, Community Development Director Brad Johnson, Senior Planner Catherine Lin, AICP. and Assistant Planner Daniel Kim joined more than 2,100 planners from across California at the APA California 2025 Conference in Monterey — the most well-attended conference in the organization’s history. This year’s theme, “Waves of Change,” reflected the evolving challenges and opportunities shaping California communities. Our team participated in a wide range of sessions on new land use legislation, safety and wildfire planning, housing, water recycling, downtown revitalization, community engagement, and economic development.
