Ever since our founding by the brothers Clemens and August in 1841, C&A has been at the forefront of fashion. From making 'ready-to-wear' a thing when custom-made was the norm, to popularising miniskirts in the 60s, introducing the Com-bi-kini in the 70s, Bio Cotton in early 2000 and the first Cradle-to-Cradle Gold certified garment (www.c-a.com/c2c) in 2017 - we have always evolved with the times, making stylish and quality clothes possible for everyone. And while C&A and the world around us has changed over the decades, one thing has remained the same: our dedication to offering sustainable and quality fashion for the entire family. Each day we welcome millions of visitors in about 1300 stores across 17 European countries. C&A is one of the most enduring and pioneering retailer brands in global apparel.     Empowering Women, Together: Our Commitment to Breast Cancer Support We’re proud to stand alongside inspiring partners and ambassadors in supporting women affected by breast cancer. Through ongoing collaborations with organizations like the Dutch Breast Cancer Association and Bellis, we help women rediscover their confidence and personal style during and after treatment. In the Netherlands, our monthly styling mornings organized with BVN - Borstkankervereniging Nederland and styled by Liselotte Admiraal offer personalized advice and a welcoming space for (former) breast cancer patients to connect, share and shine. Special thanks to Linda Hakeboom, author and documentary filmmaker, who continues to raise awareness as our brand ambassador and as an advocate for the Dutch Cancer Society. In the Czech Republic, our partnership with Bellis - pomáháme ženám s rakovinou prsu brings workshops, therapeutic yoga trips, make-up sessions and styling events tailored to each woman’s needs. We’re honoured to support initiatives like “Care about yourself as a rare flower,” helping young patients regain confidence and celebrate their unique beauty. This year, we also offered free education on self-examination to staff and customers, with Bellis educators providing guidance in our stores. From mastectomy bras designed for comfort and style to activewear for onco-yoga, we’re committed to making every woman feel seen, supported, and empowered on their journey.     C&A Launches the Iconic Puffer Collection—Coming to Life in Amsterdam, Munich & Vienna!   We’re excited to introduce the new C&A Iconic Puffers collection, featuring modern outerwear with a blend of versatility, functionality and affordability. Each style combines elegant, contemporary design with water-repellent fabrics—including recycled polyester—and thoughtful details like seamless quilting and practical pockets. This autumn, we’re taking our outerwear campaign to the next level with a dynamic, city-focused roadshow designed to boost awareness and excitement for our modern and versatile collection. The activation kicks off in 📍 Amsterdam, 16–18 October, followed by 📍 Munich, 23–25 October and 📍 Vienna, 29–31 October. All three cities will host interactive installations where visitors can explore and test the puffers' performance against rain, wind and cold. The unique “Made to go outside” experience reflects our brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation and real-world functionality. “The Iconic Puffer Collection celebrates the whole family and embodies C&A’s commitment to accessible, high-quality outerwear.     🚀 104 new apprentices joined C&A this year! We kicked off their journey with two energising days at our Düsseldorf headquarters, filled with inspiration and collaboration. Our new talents bring fresh perspectives and engagement to every team. For us at C&A, it's clear: Training shapes our future. Many of our current colleagues and leaders began as apprentices here. Annalisa Kuhn, HR Business Partner, who organized the get-together: “The energy, curiosity, and motivation the apprentices brought with them were truly impressive.     C&A celebrates 184 years – A story of heritage, people and progress 🎉 It all began in Sneek, Friesland in 1841 when Clemens and August Brenninkmeijer established 'C&A Brenninkmeijer' with a vision to make ready-to-wear clothing widely accessible. At first, their initial store operated from a rented upper floor and was open only on market days. Through a reputation built on integrity and reliability, the company expanded, opening its first dedicated C&A store in Sneek in 1860. Today, the Sneek store serves as both a retail space and a testament to C&A’s history, featuring an in-house mini museum that preserves our legacy. Many customers continue to maintain enduring relationships with the Sneek store, some spanning several generations. What has remained constant over the past 184 years? A commitment to offer high-quality products at affordable prices while striving to inspire our customers. As we mark this anniversary, we both honour our roots and look ahead.
