  • We handed over the keys of the 51st German A400M to Luftwaffe - German Airforce. The aircraft landed in Wunstorf, the homebase of the German A400M fleet. Ever since the first A400M touched down here on 19 December 2014, Airbus has been working hand in hand with the German Air Force to ensure that its A400M fleet is operational whenever it is needed. We are always on duty, providing technical support, maintenance, repair, airworthiness and spare parts management.

We as Europeans need to get our act together in space. The successful European Space Agency - ESA Ministerial Conference shows we are doing that. Congrats to all participating member states and partners on this successful conference with a record commitment which acknowledges a new reality: #Space is no longer just an enabler in a field of science and exploration, but also a contested domain, essential for our defence and deterrence. We at Airbus stand ready to deliver. We will translate these strategic ambitions into real capabilities – securing Europe's ambitions, its sovereignty, freedom and competitiveness in a challenging world.

  • #ClimateChange is intensifying, leading to more frequent and severe natural disasters worldwide. In the face of these challenges, rapid and robust humanitarian response is more critical than ever. At Airbus Defence and Space, we provide technology for critical aid. 🚨 📡 Eyes in the Sky (Space): Our advanced #PléiadesNeo satellites provide critical intelligence for mission planning, delivering rapid damage assessments, identifying safe landing zones, and pinpointing disaster-affected areas. 🛰️🔍 ✈️ Lifelines from the Air (Air): Our proven airlifters - the #A400M, #C295, and #A330MRTT (Multi-Role Tanker Transport) - are engineered for complex missions: Rapid Deployment: Delivering essential supplies, teams, and heavy equipment to remote or challenging locations. 📦 Medical & Rescue: Executing Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) and Search and Rescue (SAR), turning aircraft into flying hospitals and surveillance platforms. 🚑 Strategic Reach: The A330 MRTT enables long-distance strategic transport and airlift, extending the range of aid missions. ⛽ We stand with global aid organisations and armed forces, ensuring that relief can reach those who need it most, regardless of the complexity of the logistics. Every flight is a lifeline. #Handprint

  • A wave goodbye 👋 to the European Service Module (ESM-4), that left Airbus facilities in Bremen, Germany, this week for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Our masterpiece of engineering is starting its journey to NASA hands, to be integrated over the next two years with the Orion Crew module, the vital hub of the Artemis IV mission where astronauts will work and live. As a part of Gateway – the first humanity lunar exploration station – the State-of-art spacecraft module powers Europe's deep space exploration ambitions. 🌠 May your sails be full, ESM 4!

  • As the Sun-observer SOHO 🛰️approaches 30 years in orbit, we’re working with the European Space Agency - ESA to prepare for a new milestone: Vigil, Europe’s first 24/7 space weather forecasting satellite.🛰️ When we think about weather, we usually think of sun, rain and snow. But did you know that there is a form of weather that extends far beyond the Earth? Above our heads, the Sun goes down but it never really sleeps, and its behaviour can potentially affect us. That’s where Vigil comes into play: our state-of-the-art satellite will ensure the continuous observation of space weather. This will provide vital warning about incoming solar storms and coronal mass ejections that can disrupt satellites and power & electronic systems. This can cause damage impacting our daily lives: communication networks, aviation, GPS, and emergency systems.✈️🌐 Since its launch in December 1995, SOHO has been monitoring the Sun from a vantage point 1.5 million km out in space, on the sunward side of the Earth. It has brought about a revolution in solar science. Apart from discoveries about flows of gas inside the sun, giant 'tornadoes' of hot, electrically charged gas, and clashing magnetic field-lines, SOHO has proved its worth with early warning of eruptions that could affect the Earth’s climate. • Oman’s national operator, Space Communication Technologies SPC (SCT), has awarded Airbus a contract to manufacture its first geostationary satellite, OmanSat-1. 🛰️An innovative, all-digital solution engineered with high throughput capabilities, making it a state-of-the-art telecommunications satellite. Its complete in-orbit reconfigurability enables SCT to adjust the satellite's coverage, capacity, and frequency ‘on the fly’ to meet evolving customer requirements. OmanSat-1 will deliver high Ka-band capacity primarily over Oman and its economic waters. Its coverage will also extend across the whole of the Middle East, East Africa, and Asia.🌍 This contract marks our 10th OneSat win, demonstrating that it truly fits market needs. • Props and respect to Team Luftwaffe for its historic first binational exercise in New Zealand 🇳🇿 with 2 Airbus A400Ms. We love to see the transport aircraft we build flying, serving those who protect our democracies and way of life! The Airbus A400M can take on the work of three aircraft: it can be used as a transporter, a MedEvac aircraft and as a flying gas station for large aircraft, fighter jets and even helicopters. What is your favourite feature of the A400M? Check out the awesome pictures taken at Tūhono Rangi 2025 exercise. Copyright Luftwaffe.

  • Our commitment to continuous capability enhancement for the #A400M is crucial for global flexibility. 🛠️ In our latest flight test campaign in Altengrabow, Germany, together with the German Armed Forces, the A400M proved its ability to land extended payloads on challenging, soft grass runways. Once certified, this enhancement will significantly strengthen the aircraft’s mission flexibility, from critical special operations to vital humanitarian missions. 🎯 This will enable the rapid delivery of aid closer to the point of need — a necessity that is absolutely vital in disaster relief scenarios. 📦 Learn about the precision, collaboration with the German Armed Forces 🤝, and advanced technology —including the "PlayStation-like" flight control system— that made this testing a success: https://lnkd.in/dy4rhN2W

  • The #Airbus International Training Centre (ITC), the largest private military training centre in Europe, is celebrating its 15th anniversary! 🥳 Located in Seville 🇪🇸, the ITC has achieved a major milestone, reinforcing its global leadership in defence crew training 💻. Over the past 15 years, more than 20,000 professionals, including all types of profiles involved in the operation and maintenance of military aircraft ✈️, have been trained for the strategic and tactical fleets: #A400M, #A330MRTT, #C295, and #CN235. The centre has provided instruction for 90 international operators 🌍 , with around 2,500 people trained each year 🧑✈️. The ITC operates five Full Flight Simulators (FFS), where the maximum level of realism ensures that one hour of flight time in a FFS is equivalent to one hour in a real aircraft.
