Week 12 of the NFL season winds down with one game left: Carolina heading to San Francisco. We like the Panthers getting seven points.

Carolina (+7) on Monday Night

Carolina has been a pretty good road team this year, winners of three straight away from home, and is starting to play with confidence. Offensively, T-Mac has turned into a legitimate number-one receiver — a star who gives Bryce Young a consistent target. Young has been playing better, and this group is improving every week.

The 49ers are healthier now, but they’ve been one of the league’s most uneven teams after wins. Every time it looks like they’ve found their rhythm, they follow it with one of their worst games. Everyone seems all-in on San Francisco again, but that line feels heavy. Around the league there have been a lot of tight contests this week. Carolina’s still fighting for a playoff spot, and we like their chances to cover the spread.

  • The Pick: Carolina +7

49ers to Win

We like the Panthers with the points, but we do think the 49ers still win at home. San Francisco tends to show up under the bright lights, and Kyle Shanahan usually delivers in prime-time settings. Still, that defense is missing too many key players — Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and others — and right now, they can’t stop much. We wouldn’t be surprised if San Francisco wins it in a shootout, something like 35–30.
