Decided to try VideoPress, saw I got one video upload for free. Made that video in Adobe Premiere Pro. Exported it and tried to upload it. But got a generic error message. Read all the requirements and was able to state that my video fulfills all of it. Tried even to upload it at the wordpress.com site. Still didn’t work. Bad first impressions of this service. Quite disappointed since I like the concept of Jetpack and that it should be streamlined for WordPress.

    So, I…

    • Verified all technical requirements
    • Tried uploading both through wp-admin and wordpress.com
    • Confirmed I’m trying to use the free video upload feature
    • Are receiving a generic “something went wrong” error

What do I do now? Give up?

Hey @peter-westerlund – thanks for trying the basic steps for VideoPress! We want to check some more things for your site from our side but I see you din’t provide your site URL in your query so could you please post your site URL here so that we can have a look? Also could you please confirm the video that you are trying to upload is under 1 GB because for free plan that’s the requirement. You can also check it here in the “Frequently Asked Questions” section.

If possible please also provide us the video that you are trying to upload and it is getting failed, you may share the video with us using Google Drive, Dropbox, or any other similar services.

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form. If you choose to reach out directly, please include a link to this thread.
