We’re honoured to be among the select few organizations advancing to Phase B of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Quantum Benchmarking Initiative. We believe that delivering a useful, fault-tolerant quantum computer in the next decade can only be achieved using standard silicon CMOS processes – the same transistor technology used in conventional computers and smartphones. We’re looking forward to continuing our work with DARPA to validate our vision and approach for delivering the world’s most scalable quantum computer. Link: https://bit.ly/3WJ02z5 #QBI #CMOS #HPC

Every modern technology has scaled with silicon transistors, communication and data storage, through to photography and video. Silicon transistors can also solve the problem of scaling to large and useful quantum computers. With silicon, you can have millions of qubits in one system that fits into a box, not a building. Listen to our co-founders John Morton and Simon Benjamin, talk about how Quantum Motion is leveraging silicon to build quantum computers. Learn more about our work: https://lnkd.in/eVsFUaek

It’s been a busy few weeks, but one of the real highlights was seeing Quantum Motion’s work featured prominently by GlobalFoundries CTO Gregg Bartlett in his keynote at the #GlobalFoundries Technology Summit in Munich. Partnering with GlobalFoundries as we’ve developed our silicon-based quantum devices has been incredible and the support from Nigel Cave and the wider team has been outstanding. It was a pleasure for Alberto Gomez Saiz and me to demo our progress and share how close collaboration between foundry and quantum teams can accelerate innovation in this space, leading to some world-leading results. Huge thanks to everyone involved in this collaboration at Quantum Motion (M. Fernando González Zalba,Isobel Clarke, Virginia Ciriano-Tejel, David J. Ibberson, Grayson Noah, Tom Swift, Mark A. I. Johnson, Ross L., Alberto Gomez Saiz, John Morton, Mathieu de Kruijf and David Wise in particular) - I have noted a couple of our recent publications and pre-prints in this area in the comments on which we will release a bit more soon.
