The Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Alexander Schweitzer recently visited our beverage can production facility in Weißenthurm, Germany – one of two such facilities in Rhineland-Palatinate. During his visit, discussions centred on sustainable industrial production and the importance of closed material loops for a climate-neutral future; the Weißenthurm team outlined how recyclable aluminium beverage cans support a circular economy. Colleagues from our beverage can production facility in Jacareí, Brazil recently participated in the 5th edition of the Health Run and Walk, in Parque da Cidade, Jacareí. This was the third consecutive year Ardagh sponsored the event in support of the São Francisco de Assis Hospital - a leading philanthropic healthcare provider in the areas of oncology, nephrology and maternity services. The Health Run and Walk brought together around 1,100 adults and 160 children in pursuit of health, well-being and quality of life. Glass containers can be recycled over and over without losing quality, helping conserve natural resources and reduce landfill waste. To make your recycling efforts count: • Check local recycling rules to know what glass is accepted. • Rinse containers and remove lids for cleaner recycling. • Remember, not all glass is recyclable. Light bulbs, mirrors, and Pyrex go elsewhere. Every bottle recycled makes a difference. Spread the word, support businesses recycling glass and using recycled glass, and help create a healthier environment for all.

We’re honoured to have been named winner in the Climate category at the Packaging Europe 2025 Sustainability Awards for our hydrogen electrolyser in Limmared, Sweden. The project marks a significant milestone in validating hydrogen’s role in decarbonising commercial-scale glass packaging production. Using hydrogen produced from renewable electricity alongside natural gas in our glass furnace is a real step forward for lower-carbon glassmaking. This week in Düsseldorf, Germany, the 3rd European Green Aluminium Summit focused on sustainability and innovation in the aluminium industry. Ardagh's Robert-Jan ter Morsche spoke on the critical challenge of closing the loop for the aluminium beverage can, exploring the barriers and opportunities in achieving full circularity for aluminium packaging. The aluminium beverage can is infinitely recyclable and plays a vital role in supporting a circular economy.
