What matters most to us is true teamwork. NEC Corporation and each of its subsidiary companies are part of a larger team, and any value or profits that we realize are generated as one unified NEC Group.    At a recent CEO Town Hall Meeting, we welcomed two CEOs from group companies based in Europe, Tina Whitley of NEC Software Solutions UK and Martin Greweldinger of Avaloq. Tomoki Kubo, who leads NEC’s Digital Government/Digital Finance (DG/DF) division, also joined virtually from Switzerland, where the corporate functions for DG/DF are based. Although each of our organizations face daily challenges across various regions, we are all aligned with the single purpose of the NEC Group.    Within these organizations, synergies are being created by leveraging the assets of NEC Group companies. The fact that such significant results have been achieved with our European partners in just a few years since joining the group is truly remarkable and something we can be proud of. NEC becomes the first Japanese Company selected for the European Green Digital Coalition's Net Carbon Impact Assessment. 🍃 The Net Carbon Impact Assessment scientifically evaluates environmental contributions enabled by digital technology. NEC applied to and was selected for this project, inspired by the potential of digital solutions for agriculture-a sector closely linked to climate change. NEC, together with Carbon Trust, an international climate consulting firm, conducted a case study in northern Japan to demonstrate CropScope’s variable fertilizer application. Carbon Trust calculated that the net carbon impact of the solution was approximately –6 tCO2e, resulting in a 23% reduction in emissions when applied to winter wheat. NEC Corporation announced the decarbonization potential of its agricultural software platform “CropScope” at COP30 (the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10, 2025. NEC attended the seminar by Japan's Ministry of the Environment at the ongoing COP30 in Belém, Brazil. 🍃 In this seminar, we discussed the increasing importance of supply chain resilience in the face of expanding climate change impacts and the potential of early warning systems (EWS) to support it. NEC announced initiatives to minimize their potential impact on supply chain by utilizing digital technologies to address risks from climate change, such as reduction of agricultural yields and urban flooding. NEC and the Cambodian Mine Action Center Successfully Predict Landmine-Contaminated Areas in Cambodia Using AI 💡 NEC Corporation and the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), the national institution responsible for landmine clearance activities in Cambodia, with assistance from JICA, conducted a proof-of-concept using AI to predict landmine-contaminated areas. This initiative aims to contribute to rapid and efficient clearance operations to eliminate landmine casualties. The proof-of-concept achieved highly accurate predictions, with a match rate exceeding 90% against actual landmine locations. This initiative also received recognition through "The GICHD Innovation Award 2025," hosted by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), which honors outstanding technologies contributing to progress in demining activities.
