  • ✈️ The future of landing gear replacement is here! ✈️ RH Aero Systems, EFW and Airbus have completed a successful on-aircraft validation of the LGX MultiSystem on an Airbus A330 during a passenger-to-freighter conversion.   🔧 90-minute miracle: In just 1.5 hours, the aircraft's main landing gear was replaced using RH Aero's all-electric, ground-based solution – a process that revolutionizes conventional methods and eliminates the need for overhead cranes or slings. The entire operation was performed from the ground with only two operators, significantly increasing efficiency and safety.   🔩 Technological excellence: EFW and RH Aero are working hand in hand to advance innovative technologies for the aviation sector with in-house manufacturing and on-site adaptations to the adapter frame.   🏢 Training and testing in Biberach: RH Aero’s dedicated test and training center allows MROs, airlines, and OEM representatives to experience the LGX system under real-world conditions and gain operational insights and hands on experience.   ✈️ Aircraft compatibility: The LGX MultiSystem is the industry's first universal landing gear replacement solution for wide-body aircraft. It is compatible with the Airbus A330, A340, A350, and A380 families, as well as the Boeing 777 and 787 family variants.

  • Did you know: Two or four engines – why exactly? ✈️🔍 Aircraft differ not only in size and range, but also in the company and number of their engines. Airbus models like the A320 or A321, for example, use engines from CFM International (CFM56-5B) or Pratt & Whitney (PW1100G). The A330 uses the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 or the General Electric CF6-80E1.   🚀Why often only two? Thanks to technological advances, modern jets today usually only need two engines. They are more efficient, consume less fuel, and incur lower maintenance costs. Furthermore, certifications like ETOPS allow twin-engine aircraft to fly long distances across oceans. 🌊   🛩️ When do you need four? Four engines are primarily seen on older long-haul models or very large aircraft like the Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747. Reasons for this include higher thrust, redundancy in the event of a failure, and previous technical limits on range.   📈 Where is the trend heading? Clearly toward twin-engine aircraft: They are more economical and sustainable.🌍 Four-engine aircraft remain relevant only where extreme requirements are required, such as military or heavy-lift flights.   Follow us and stay tuned for more insights from the world of aviation! ✈️🌎 #efw #elbeflugzeugwerke #engine #aviation #aicraft #facts

Ready, Set, Fly – Australia is calling! 🛫 Experience the impressive Qantas A380 taking off. After maintenance at EFW in Dresden, it was now ready to go for its long journey to Sydney. 🌏✈️   💪 The A380 is known for its enormous passenger capacity. This is close to 500 seats in the typical three-class configuration.   🍀 But did you also know that in addition to its exceptional size, it also has record-breaking fuel consumption? Thanks to its advanced aerodynamics and state-of-the-art engines, it burns less fuel per passenger than many smaller aircraft.   Not only is its capacity and performance exceptional – its wingspan of 80 meters is so large that some airports had to make special adaptations to accommodate its arrivals and departures.   EFW wishes always happy landings! 🛬   #efw #elbeflugzeugwerke #qantas #A380 #dresdenairport #planespotter #aircraft #airbus
