Children are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis. From floods and heatwaves to droughts and pollution, their health, education, and safety are all at risk. But a better future for children is still within reach, if we act now. 🌍 Last week's #COP30 brought world leaders together to accelerate global climate action in Belém, Brazil. UNICEF is calling on leaders to: 1️⃣ Protect children and the essential services they rely on (water, health, education) 2️⃣ Reduce emissions and transition away from fossil fuels 3️⃣ Empower children and youth to take part in climate decision-making

Yesterday we paused to listen to young people, and today UNICEF Canada and our partners roll-up our sleeves and get back to work, more invigorated than ever, to advocate with and for children and youth. Alongside 13 of our partners we are urging the Canadian Government to put children at the centre of policy and investment. This includes a specific ask to swiftly pass Bill S212 - a National Strategy for Children and Youth, and to explicitly protect children around the world from the recent cuts in Canada's foreign assistance envelope. Because UNICEF Canada and our partners will continue to lead, advocate, and act to ensure no child is left behind.
