  • September 30th, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, honors the survivors of the residential school system while remembering those whose lives were lost. At Kootenay Columbia College, we recognize the lasting impact of the residential school system and the importance of honoring the voices of those who continue to share their truths. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural sensitivity, respect, and understanding in all our interactions. As we continue to serve students from diverse backgrounds across our Nelson and Burnaby locations, we are committed to creating learning environments where Indigenous cultures are celebrated and where every student feels valued and respected. Today, our campuses are closed to provide our community with the opportunity to engage in Orange Shirt Day observances and reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation.
