"Think of as a ChatGPT, but for the physical world," says Physical Intelligence co-founder and CEO Karol Hausman of the company's efforts to build the #AI brains that will help machines learn to perform almost any task the way a human can. Check out this fun piece by Bloomberg's Shirin Ghaffary as she describes exploring the company's Mission District lab, complete with robot-prepared coffee and laundry folding demonstrations. Grab a human-made coffee, possibly some turkey, and enjoy. https://lnkd.in/gwburz5h Jill (Greenberg) Chase Manmeet Gujral

To say that Physical Intelligence has an "all-star team is the understatement of the century," writes CapitalG partner Jill (Greenberg) Chase in sharing the news of our lead investment the company. Read more about her personal connection to the founders and the reasons for her deep conviction in their ability to bring #AI to the physical world.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce our investment in Physical Intelligence. It has been almost exactly two years since I got an email from Chris Re with the subject line, "Jill (CapG) <> Chelsea, Karol, Sergey (All-Star Team)." Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know these three, along with Brian, Adnan, and Quang, and I can confirm that "All-star team" is the understatement of the century. With this stellar research squad at the core, the addition of Lachy (who we know well from our time working with him at Stripe) is the perfect complement. The team has made incredible progress over the past two years (as evidenced by their recent announcement on π*0.6), but what truly sets Physical Intelligence apart is their remarkable say-do ratio. Time and again, they have set ambitious goals and flown past them in record time. This is a quality that is exceedingly rare in the robotics field and is precisely why we are so confident in their ability to change the world. We are so excited to support their journey and see what they accomplish next! Read more on our thesis here: https://lnkd.in/gCth8D-M

We are excited to share CapitalG's lead investment in Physical Intelligence. It's an honor to partner with the truly exceptional team, including Karol Hausman, Sergey Levine, Brian Ichter, Chelsea Finn, Adnan Esmail, Quan Vuong, and Lachy Groom (who we’ve known for a long time through our investment in Stripe), as they usher #AI into the physical world. Physical Intelligence is building the bridge between the worlds of atoms and bits with foundation models that learn to understand and master the chaos of the physical world. The opportunity here isn't robotics as traditionally defined; it is every physical task humans currently perform, augmented by intelligent machines. We believe Physical Intelligence will be the company that bridges the digital-physical divide, bringing AI's remarkable capabilities to the material world. Helsinki's November chill was no match for #Slush2025 where the palpable energy and infectious optimism kept the massive Slush crowd on fire. CapitalG partner Jane Alexander and Clay co-founder and COO Varun Anand discussed practical ways that companies can leverage #AI to dramatically improve GTM efficiency and outcomes—from personalization at scale to optimizing sales workflows. Learn more directly from Jane Alexander below.
Had an absolute blast talking about the art of go to market with Varun yesterday and airwalking our way onto stage at Slush. Companies shared their growth challenges with us and we live GTM engineered solutions with them. From a local photographer to a small language model provider, we had a ball hearing about the incredible businesses at Slush and jamming on growth ideas together. If you’re building in Europe, check out Clay. They have the best data and the best AI-powered product to help you stand out and actually get results. And if you’re interested in joining Clay’s growing team in Europe, let us know. This is a special time to join one of the fastest growing AI application companies out there. Thanks for having us, Helsinki! And congratulations to the team at Slush for a fantastic event.

As CapitalG general partner James Luo writes, "it's very rare that we get the chance to meet founders and conclude that they're not just the best people, but also potentially the only people in the world who can build what they're building. Celero Communications founders Nariman Yousefi and Oscar Agazzi are among this rare breed of exceptional founders. It's very rare that we get the chance to meet founders and conclude that they're not just the best people, but also potentially the only people, in the world who can build what they're building. Nariman Yousefi and Oscar Agazzi are two of these people. Having spent time taping out every major generation of coherent DSPs across their careers, they and the rest of the team at Celero Communications are pioneering a new class of coherent digital signal processing (DSP) platforms to solve the networking bottleneck that is throttling AI-scale infrastructure. The rise of AI demands linking thousands+ of GPUs/XPUs across entire buildings, but today’s networking and DSP technology was not built for this level of scale. Nariman and Oscar have assembled a world-class team hailing from Marvell, Inphi, ClariPhy, and Broadcom to rethink DSP design from the ground up for this AI-scale future. We're proud to partner with Nariman, Oscar, and the rest of the team as they deliver the next generation of signal processing technology with the reach, efficiency, and cost profile required for tomorrow's data centers and AI clusters. We are excited to announce CapitalG's lead investment in Celero Communications, which is building a new class of coherent digital signal processing (DSP) platforms to solve a critical networking bottleneck in AI-scale infrastructure. The company is helmed by a dream team of founders: CEO Nariman Yousefi and CTO Oscar Agazzi, both world leaders in DSP technology. At Marvell Technology, Inphi Corporation, ClariPhy Communications and Broadcom, they oversaw the shipping of multiple generations of DSPs and networking IC solutions. We are thrilled to partner with Nariman, Oscar and their exceptional team as they develop advanced coherent DSP solutions to enable high-bandwidth, low-power optical connectivity for #AI infrastructure. What’s it like to make big investment bets on artificial intelligence right now, given how quickly the technology is involving, the size and pace of investments, and the rapid rate at which #AI companies are accelerating? CapitalG managing partner Laela Sturdy discussed exactly that with Sarah Krouse, technology and media editor at The Wall Street Journal. Their interview covered the ways in which AI has the potential to transform life and work, as well as the challenges involved in picking AI investments. Read the full interview below. And that's a wrap on #WSJTechLive2025, which included fascinating speakers like OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport and our own CapitalG managing partner Laela Sturdy who chatted with The Wall Street Journal editor Sarah Krouse about her investment theses in #AI and #ecommerce, opportunities and risks associated with investing in and growing AI businesses during this era (hint: "It takes a strong stomach), advice to tech founders leading during this period of rapid change ("Embrace the change. Change is not the enemy; it's the engine"), and lessons learned from partnering closely iconic companies like Stripe, Duolingo, Databricks, and CrowdStrike. Catch a snipet where she discusses how, despite the level of attention and hype surrounding AI, most of us don't yet grasp how fundamentally it will change the ways we learn, work and live: https://lnkd.in/eaU_TuKc

Ever since our first investment in Armis back in 2019, we've repeatedly doubled down on the company, as our conviction in its technology, its leadership, and its potential has only grown stronger. Armis is redefining cyber exposure management, and we believe deeply in their vision to protect the full attack surface—from ground to cloud—for critical infrastructure worldwide. Gene Frantz, Mo Jomaa, James Luo and I, and all of us at CapitalG, are thrilled to have the privilege of partnering with Yevgeny Dibrov, Nadir Izrael, Jonathan Carr and the entire Armis team! https://lnkd.in/dcJ3DFUS
