Overall, decent app with decent performance but whenever you go to leave a tip & say your card was still locked or it had the tip selected with one of the multiple choices already without you realizing & your card is locked or you dont have enough in your account it will not let you use the app to book a new ride until you “pay off the balance” but by then I gave my driver a cash tip since I did not have enough on my card to cover the tip plus not realizing that I would have to pay the tip twice no matter what if I wanted to book any future rides again through the Lyft App. I tried to suspect the transaction through the app and had few options as to why the amount was wrong but it would not refund me back my money besides $1.12 or how much ever cents for “adjusting the ride payment” so was very upset and disappointed once that happened and couldn’t get it resolved at all. Besides that nothing bad to say so if at all possible they need to change that setting and if the transaction doesn’t go through for the full amount then it just needs to start over the payment options not freeze your account until you pay off that balance when in reality the ride was already paid for it pops up after you get dropped off to rate your driver then tip them so it froze my account over a OPTIONAL TIP! I find that very upsetting & yall lucky to of gotten 5 stars from me STILL but like I said outside from that I’ve had zero issues.

I've been using Lyft regularly through Medicaid as a person with disabilities who doesn't drive, and I’ve consistently maintained a 4.9-star rider rating. Recently, my account was deactivated without warning after a driver falsely reported that I was underage. This claim was completely untrue. Lyft’s Safety Team contacted me asking for a copy of my ID to prove my age, but my mother and I were uncomfortable providing sensitive information due to serious concerns about Lyft’s data security. When we expressed these concerns, Lyft provided no reassurance or alternative solution and refused to help us resolve the issue. We felt this situation—and the way it was handled—was discriminatory toward riders with disabilities. Unfortunately, issues with Lyft seem to arise every couple of months, and it's exhausting to navigate. I may not "look" or act like what people expect from someone with disabilities, but that shouldn’t justify mistreatment or false accusations. It seems like Lyft is giving the Drivers too much power to hold over the riders. We tried filing a complaint through Medicaid and asked Lyft how to escalate our concern, but got nowhere. If I didn’t rely on Lyft to get to work, we wouldn't be using the service at all. The way Lyft handled this situation was inappropriate and dismissive, especially for a rider who has consistently followed the rules and depends on the service for basic daily needs.

Update almost cost me time & money

I was having trouble getting the app to load so I went to see if it needed an update. One was available so I updated it and then proceeded to schedule my ride. The scheduling process went perfectly fine, then the app just stop notifying me of anything. I scheduled a ride for 1:45pick up. My driver arrived 10 mins early and the app never even told me he was there. I kept refreshing it, trying to see the drivers location and all it would say is driver is 9 mins away, when he was already sitting in my driveway. Luckily he was kind enough to wait, so when I got in the car I tell him why I kept him waiting and apologized. We drove for 15 feet before the app ever acknowledged he had arrived and I was at my destination before it realized I was in the car. This isn’t only extremely inconvenient as I was going to work. It is also unsafe, what if I needed to notify the app of trouble. Luckily the waiting fee was waived, idk if that was his choice or if it was automatic due to the glitch. But 10 mins before I scheduled is a lot of time when you’re trying to get out the door and when someone is waiting for you. This could have gone way worse for many reasons, this update needs to fixed immediately

Why can’t I communicate with an actual person or chat with someone for my issue

I’ve already had money taken out yesterday for a ride I requested and it was pending. After work around 5am I noticed I got charged again for the same ride. Then when I tried to find a way to communicate it or find customer service the options available were not helpful at all. I could not speak with anyone to help me solve my issue. I woke up to another notification that the same charge was declined because I locked my card; so they tried to charge me a third time. When I requested a Lyft for work it said I had to choose another method of payment. So I had to forcefully pay for that same ride a third time plus the ride I requested that day. As I get into my office I see that they again tried to charge me a fourth time. I’m really getting frustrated because it just seems like it’s going to keep charging me till I have no money left in my checking account and that is a major problem. On top of that there isn’t a customer service line for me to contact or even an option so I can live chat with someone to help me with my problem. Highly annoyed at the inconvenience because I’m sure I’m going to get charged again for that same ride on top of the ride I’m going to need tomorrow to get to work. Can I get some help please!!!!!!!! Or keep this one star rating and the loss off a customer and a potential civil suit against the company. Already have had multiple issues with said app and I’m over it.
