With its gorgeous photos and step-by-step instructions, this compilation of more than 15,000 recipes from The New York Times’ vaults belongs in every kitchen. We love how easy it is to save and search for recipes, and themed collections like “Easy Cakes,” “Beer Cocktails,” and “A Taste of New Orleans” are a mouthwatering delight. The app also features dozens of short instructional videos on topics like trussing chicken and julienning peppers—perfect for novice chefs eager to dive in and start cooking.

Then after spending probably an hour and a half of my time back-and-forth with emails and New York Times tech-support they were able to figure out (since I had saved the account # thankfully!!!!) what the issue was which is that I had changed the email address before cancelling the subscription. Thanks Jocelyn for all your help 😀

  • NYT's swift response!

Two days ago I gave a low rating because updates to the app prevented me from using it. Today NYT wrote to me to say they fixed the issue and my access is restored....and it is. Thank you, NYT Cooking! Previous review: I love this app. But suddenly I'm unable to use it because of my older iOS. Other apps allow the use of older versions; why not NYT?

  • Delicious recipes

    Interesting Point

This app has my go to recipes. I’ve curated my own collections in different folders: e.g. “make this week.” The biggest improvement to suggest would be to adjust the search within My Recipes to enable you to use the filters available to the whole recipe box: “easy,” “under 30 min,” “chicken,” etc. Thanks for these recipes!

  • Fantastic resource

This is one of the most reliable apps I’ve ever used. I love the variety of recipes available, and especially the ability to see comments from other users who often offer tips or their own experiences. I make these recipes often and nine times out of ten, they’re home runs.

  • Deep and engaging

    NFL Not My Friend

The NYT Cooking App has so many recipes it can seem bottomless, yet somehow over the years I have sifted and sorted more than 1000 recipes into my own catalog and organization and I keep adding more! From simple weeknight dinners, to great for company recipes, to ambitious weekend projects I’ve cooked a good number of the 1000+ and learned a good deal along the way. I recommend!

  • IOS 17 not available has been fixed!

I have an older iPad that can’t be updated to IOS 17. I was really upset that I could no longer view the NYT Cooking app with the latest update. Kudos to the developers for fixing it quickly. I love using this app and have curated a large collection of recipes. It’s my first stop when planning meals.
