Tap notes as they scroll down the screen and try to keep your cool as the music speeds up and the competition gets fierce. Crush all the tracks and you’ll go home a hero!

What we love: The eye-popping visuals. Each rap showdown feels like a miniature music video, with wild animation and over-the-top characters. Just be prepared for some suggestive themes (though you can toggle them off in the game’s settings), especially when you score 100 per cent on a song. This one isn’t for young’uns!

Quick tip: Keep getting tripped up on a certain song? Hit pause and enable practice mode to spend some low-stakes quality time with the track. You’ll be nailing “Sick” ratings in no time.

Meet the creator: The Funkin’ Crew – aka ninjamuffin99, PhantomArcade, Kawai Sprite and evilsk8r – made an early version of Friday Night Funkin’ for a 2020 game jam. After it became a massive hit as a web-browser game, they began working on this groovy mobile edition.
