APPS WE LOVE

Edit Video Like an Award Winner

DaVinci Resolve packs tools and effects applauded by Hollywood.

An App Store Award finalist and filmmaker fave, the free video-editing app DaVinci Resolve allows you to juggle colour corrections, visual effects, audio editing, and more.

What we love: Not having to sacrifice performance and functionality for affordability. Edit multilayered projects with 3840x2160 video at 60 fps with little to no lag. Take advantage of powerful features such as Magic Mask (an AI-powered tool that automatically identifies objects, people, and landscapes), colour grading, and audio re-timing. And use the app’s collaboration features to work simultaneously with others, wherever they’re located.

DaVinci Resolve lets you perform colour correction and grading of 8K video in real time.

Quick tip: It’s easy to apply pro-grade colour corrections. Select a clip and click Color at the bottom of the window, then browse the colour wheel to find the right shade, lift or lower tone curves, and see which colours already exist in an image, mixing up the saturation or hue to your liking.

Go pro: Need more power and features? DaVinci Resolve Studio has all the features of the free version, plus the ability to edit 120 fps at 32K resolution, support for multiple GPUs, hardware-accelerated encoding and decoding, advanced noise reduction and isolation, HDR and Dolby Vision grading, lens distortion correction, stereoscopic 3D tools, support for scripting and workflow plug-ins, and much more.
