We are proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Dewan Award for Architecture, delivered in partnership with the Tamayouz Excellence Award. Now in its eighth year, the award celebrates innovative design proposals that address Iraq’s evolving urban challenges, and remains one of the key categories within the internationally recognised Tamayouz programme. This year, participants were invited to reimagine Baghdad’s historic Central Railway Station. The 2025 cycle also marked a milestone, with final deliberations held through a live jury session at the Iraqi Engineers Union in Baghdad during the inaugural Arab Architecture Festival (HEAR Baghdad). We are delighted to congratulate our first-place winners, Dipartimento di Architettura Sperimentale from Italy - represented by Valentino Pierantoni, Mattia Azzolina, Marco Tullio Romano, Massimo Macrì, and Rossella Di Cristo - who received a prize of $6,000. Second place went to Yildiz Technical University from Türkiye, represented by Shahd Elsayed, Zaher Sukkary, Esma Nur Azman, Yasmeen Elsangidy, Rama Alkais, Hebatullah Abdelwahab, and Sondos Mahdy, with a prize of $3,000. Third place was awarded to Brick Wave from the United States, represented by Hani Alahmed and Arwa Midhaan, with a prize of $1,000.
